Welcome to Cameroon, a country known for its rich cultural heritage and diverse landscapes. If you're a digital nomad, expat, or location-independent worker looking to establish tax residency in Cameroon, you're in the right place. This guide will walk you through each step of the process in a clear and comprehensive manner.

### Step 1: Entry Visa

Ensure you have a valid entry visa. Depending on your nationality, you may need to apply for a visa before you arrive in Cameroon. Check with the Cameroonian embassy or consulate in your home country for specific requirements.

### Step 2: Temporary Resident Permit

Within 90 days of your arrival, apply for a Temporary Resident Permit at the local immigration office. You will need to provide your passport, visa, proof of accommodation, and possibly a police clearance certificate from your home country.

### Step 3: Obtain a Work Permit (if applicable)

If you plan to work in Cameroon, you must obtain a work permit. This involves submitting an application to the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, along with your employment contract, passport, and Temporary Resident Permit.

### Step 4: Register with the Tax Authorities

Visit the local tax office to register as a taxpayer. You will need your Temporary Resident Permit, passport, and any relevant work permits. Complete the required forms and submit them to the tax authorities.

### Step 5: Open a Local Bank Account

To facilitate financial transactions, open a bank account with a local bank in Cameroon. You will need your passport, Temporary Resident Permit, and proof of residence.

### Step 6: Maintain Physical Presence

To be considered a tax resident, ensure you spend at least 183 days in Cameroon within a calendar year. Keep records of your stay, as you may need to provide evidence of your physical presence.
